Questions:  Do I need a Boating License to rent a boat?

Answer:  No, all we require is a valid drivers license, be at least 21 years old and have a credit card.

Question: What if the weather is bad on the day of my rental?  Will I get my $100.00 deposit back?

Answer: Yes, you will be refunded your deposit if the weather prevents you from going out on the day of your rental.

Question: How do I know what boats are available?

Answer: Email us at gloucesterboatrental@gmail.com. We check and reply to our email throughout the day.

Question: How many people can the boats hold?

Answer:

Striper 8 people or 1,600 pounds

Hydra-Sport 8 people or 1,200 pounds

Scout 8 people or 1,200 pounds

Key West 8 people or 1,200 pounds

Sea Pro 6 people or 900 pounds

Inflatable. 4 people (no kids under 12)

Questions: What time can I rent a boat?

Answer:

Full Day Half Day

Question:  What is included in the price of the rentals?

Answer: Rentals do not include gas ($2.00 per mile - subject to change), Massachusetts sales tax (6.25%), 6% Booking/cleaning fee and if you choose to get Prop Insurance for $25.00 or rent fishing equipment.

Question: Do you provide life jackets?

Answer: Yes, we have enough life jackets for everyone on the boat.  Please let us know if you need any life jackets for children, when you make your reservation.

Question: Where can I go during my rental?

Answer: Many people like to drive around the the entire island of Cape Ann.  It is best to go out of Gloucester Harbor and then around and return on the Annisquam River.

Question: Are there places to anchor and swim?

Answer: If you would like to anchor and swim at a beach, we recommend the river side of Wingaersheek Beach, Coffins Beach or the front side of Crane Beach.

Question: Where am I not allowed to go?

Answer: Please see the map below.  We request that you stay 1/4 mile off the coast at all times.  There are shallow rocks that you could hit.
